1 - What is the idea?
· The idea is simple: to offer everyone the opportunity to be a part
of our “Million Pixel Homepage" project and advertise their business
on our special internet page
· Everyone is welcome to buy the pixels, businesses or individuals, which
are available in 4,000 pixel 'blocks' (each measuring 100x40 pixels)
· The reason for selling them in 4000 pixel blocks is because anything
smaller would be too small to display a meaningful logo
· These blocks are priced at £200 + VAT each
· You are able to purchase multiple blocks if so desired. You can buy
as many pixel blocks as you like, as long as there are some available
· When you buy a pixel block, you can then display an image, ad, or logo
of your choice in the space you have purchased. We can design the image for
you completely free of charge
· You can also have the image click through to your own website, or we
can create a “splash page” on the internet for you – this
page can detail your product or service and contain your contact details. The
splash page service is also completely free
· No obscene or offensive images are allowed and all sites will be vetted.

2 - Who are you?
We are South Yorkshire Newspapers. We are the parent company that runs many local newspapers and their associated websites, offering effective advertising platforms for local and national businesses. 3 - Why should I buy your pixels?
· The homepage will be live for at least one year, giving a year’s
advertising for a very small price – even longer if you book early
· The homepage will be published a minimum of 10 times across all our
paper titles and will also be promoted across all our 6 offices & 5 websites
· A 200 square-foot 48-sheet advertising billboard in the centre of Doncaster
has been booked for 4 weeks in August to display the homepage, giving superb
added exposure to anyone advertising on the page
· While the billboard is live a HUGE competition with a cash prize will
be run to encourage people to view the billboard and homepage
· Nothing like this has ever been done for local businesses in this area,
giving advertisers the chance to be involved in something completely unique
· Advertisers on the original Million Dollar Homepage have reported increases
in sales of up to 40% and increases in website traffic of up to 500%
· If advertisers do not have their own websites we can create a page
for them detailing their products or services for free, offering superb added-value
for the customer
· Current visitor figures for South Yorkshire Newspapers’ websites
are over 410,000 page impressions in February, with over 37,000 unique users,
which offers incredible exposure for very little outlay
· A similar billboard in Doncaster to the one that has been booked has
around 116,000 effective views per week, making 464,000 effective views over
the 4 week period the billboard will be live
4 - How long will the site be online?
Any pixels you buy will be displayed on the homepage permanently for the period of at least one year, possibly even longer, giving all advertisers exceptional value for money. The site will be officially launched on 1 August 2006 so if you book early you could be on for up to 14 months for the price of 12.
5 – What is the booking deadline?
We will not be able to accept any more bookings after 31 June 2006. This is to give us enough time to prepare the artwork for the billboard. We will look at the possibility of allowing people onto the page after this date if there is space – please get in touch if you are interested.
